The Ayla Top is not a quiet piece. A cropped short-sleeve top in organic bamboo jersey with an open back and printed wrap straps that cross the midriff — part top, part body jewellery. The structure is deliberate: a solid burgundy upper, a wide band of gold Art Nouveau print across the chest, then open air, then the straps winding around the waist and tying at the back, then another printed band anchoring it at the hem.

Deep burgundy with rich gold — the colour of lacquer, of old wine, of something worn in a painting. The Art Nouveau print runs in wide horizontal bands — overlapping fan and shell motifs, layered and symmetrical, the kind of ornament that takes time to draw and longer to forget.

For all its elegance, the Ayla Top is remarkably comfortable to wear. The bamboo fabric moves with the body — soft, breathable, never restrictive. Wear it out at night, to a dance practice, or to yoga. It holds just as well through movement as it does standing still.
